Hello Techs,
I’m working on a new unit with a horizontal right coil and need some guidance diagnosing an issue where water is entering the secondary port and triggering a system shutdown. Under normal conditions, the safety switch should remain dry, so this behavior is unexpected.
This problem appears to be occurring on multiple recent installations, so I’m trying to determine whether it is related to installation setup, drainage, coil orientation, or another underlying issue.
If anyone has experienced this before, I would appreciate any insights, troubleshooting steps, or recommended corrective actions to resolve it.

Sometimes there’s only one way to settle the debate, and that’s by measuring it yourself. Whether it was faster or slower than expected, the results were eye-opening and definitely gave me a better perspective on the amount of time and effort involved.

I recently received a $5,500 quote for drywall installation and finishing, and I am trying to determine whether this is reasonable for the scope of work involved.

The space is currently in a rough stage, with exposed studs, partial insulation, visible ceiling framing, and various mechanical elements such as ductwork, plumbing, and electrical lines still exposed. The area is also actively being used as a work zone, with tools and materials on site.

According to the contractor, the pricing reflects not only the drywall materials but also the labor required for finishing work, which includes taping, mudding, sanding, and achieving a completed surface ready for paint.

While I understand that finishing quality plays a significant role in the overall cost, I am trying to assess whether this estimate aligns with typical market rates for a space in this condition.

I would appreciate feedback from those with experience in drywall installation or general contracting on whether this pricing is within a normal range for this type of project.

At the framing stage, the quality of a build is effectively established. Once decking boards, railings, and finishes are installed, the underlying structure is typically concealed and no longer visible for inspection. As a result, issues related to workmanship, planning, or ex*****on at this phase can become difficult—and costly—to address later.

A deck’s value is not determined solely by its appearance upon completion, but by its long-term durability, safety, and structural performance over time.

I recently replaced a GFCI outlet and noticed that a portion of the stripped copper wire extends slightly beyond the terminal clamp.

Is this a cause for concern, or am I overthinking it? Would it be safer to disconnect the wire, trim it to fit more precisely, and reattach it before closing the outlet back into the box, or is it acceptable as-is?
