JAZZ FOR CURIOUS LISTENERS [2]
Tim Porter on mandolin, accompanied by virtuoso guitarist, Joe Selly,
and internationally acclaimed bassist Santi Debriano, return to NJMH to
perform and continue the musical dialogue highlighting the long history
and continuing influence of mandolin in Blues, Jazz, and Latin music.
With this rescheduled segment originally planned for their February
series, they conclude this second series of month-long programs at the
museum, focusing this segment on the music of some of the great jazz
innovators from the mid-twentieth century onward – those who cast long
shadows, and their reflection in the stylings of modern mandolinists.
