Today, 7 years ago Siri and I meet.
She was entered into a dog show.
Siri is the catalyst for starting NYCSamoyeds (previously Central Park Samoyeds).
And the adventures began!

When Lulu joined the family. She and Siri with their friend Maximus, “the Weather Dogs”, would rush to the ABC Weatherman, Bill Evans for treats.

When we moved, the doorman knew the puppers from watching them on TV.

Adventures included weekends with the pups in the Catskills. We never knew whose pup we would wake up to.

Our morning walk-in Central Park group would meet for dinner or breakfast with the pups. Image 8 pups and 8 people in a one-bedroom apartment. Crazy fun!😄

During her time as an aspiring show dog "Sugar’n’Spice Mm-mm Nice" was her name. We could not imagine yelling "Hey Shorty!" or Hey Baby" in Central Park.

She is named after the white dwarf star "Sirius B".

This is the year of the “House Float”! 🏠

Mardi Gras 2021 is one to remember for keeping the spirit alive while also keeping the artists, crafts people and Jazz bands employed.

At the height of a pandemic, residents find safe social distanced ways to celebrate.

It seems to me you may know some Mardi Gras trivia such as:

Carnaval starts with 12th Night and ends on Shrove Tuesday, (Mardi Gras Day) the day before Lent .

The person who gets the piece of King Cake with the baby in it brings the next one.

In 1875, the state of Louisiana declared Mardi Gras a legal holiday, when Governor Warmoth signed the “Mardi Gras Act.

The tradition traces back to an ancient Roman custom of merrymaking before a period of fast.

Little kids sit on the top of ladders to watch parades.

Masks are required on floats.

Mardi Gras is a feast for the soul.
