🚨 Big news for NYC co-op buyers and sellers.

Starting July 28, 2026, co-op boards are now required to keep the process moving:

📌 Confirm receipt of an application within 15 days (or it’s deemed complete).
📌 Issue a decision within 45 days after a complete application, with only limited extensions allowed.

This is a significant step toward greater transparency, accountability, and a more predictable buying process.

And anyone who’s worked on and submitted co-op board applications knows that, for years, it’s been a waiting game.

As a real estate professional, I’m all for anything that helps buyers and sellers navigate transactions with more clarity and confidence.
