Sharing my perspective on the industry transparency in the news:

“Transparency allows boutique firms to compete on what matters most: service, trust, and local expertise. It builds credibility across the industry, just like in hospitality — some of the best experiences come from boutique hotels that prioritize care and attention.”

One more snippet of the The Weekly Note email series that I share with .ny weekly:

There’s one powerful question that can revolutionize how you operate in this business:

“Am I providing the most value?”

If you’re in the service industry and want longevity, referrals are key. And referrals come from people who trust you to do a great job for their friends and family. The best way to keep evolving is by consistently checking in with yourself: Am I truly delivering value?

It’s not about being perfect—perfection doesn’t exist in this industry. It’s about deepening your knowledge and expanding the value you offer to your clients.

If you’re working with a committed buyer—or aiming to earn that commitment—it’s essential to think about how you can truly stand out. Nearly every agent promises to work in their client’s best interest, but let’s be honest: that alone doesn’t move the needle anymore.

Instead, flip the perspective. What will genuinely benefit the buyer? What can you offer that they can’t do on their own?

Here are a few examples you can bring to the table:

• Calling buildings they like to see if there are any sellers who haven’t listed yet.

• Checking expired listings—this is often one of the quickest ways to find off-market opportunities.

• Reaching out to other brokers who are active in the area.

• Searching pre-market listings on platforms that aren’t available to the public.

These are small actions that speak volumes. Ask yourself—if you were the buyer, would you rather work with someone who just says they have your best interest in mind, or someone who shows it through proactive effort and creative solutions?

There’s also a fine line between selling someone on the idea and coming from a place of contribution. The latter—serving your clients with genuine intent—resonates more and takes you further in this business.

By popular demand, we’ll be bringing back script practice to help us sharpen our communication, role-play real scenarios, and keep improving our skillset.

Let’s keep showing up with value and intent.

I was recently introduced by a friend to one of her childhood friends to help find the perfect home in NYC. The challenge? It had to be an efficient search—and it happened to be during some of the coldest days in the city. ❄️

We started by touring through FaceTime and narrowing down options so the buyers could fly in and finalize their choice in person. It saved time, kept things efficient, and earlier this week, they closed on this picturesque home with iconic views. 🏙️

Grateful for the trust and the opportunity to help this wonderful family. 🙏

As we embark on another week of real estate and approach the spring market, I wanted to touch base on what it means to have personal accountability.

What comes to my mind right away is how hectic a day in the life of a real estate agent can be and yet a lot of the things we do do not maximize our abilities and output. What I mean by that is there are certain activities that get you further ahead and will allow you to do more business while others are neutral or maybe even dragging you down.

As a real estate agent, in my opinion, some of the most productive activities are being on showings with clients and speaking to other people who want to buy and sell real estate. If hypothetically you were to close your eyes and just feel/imagine how much more productive (not just busy) you would be as a result of those activities would probably amaze you.

If you want to take it a step further, think how much time you actually work on that. Is it an hour a day, a third or half of your working hours? And if it’s less than 2-3 hours a day - write down everything else that you do and schedule a time with me to discuss how we can trim it down and automate a big portion of it. My personal desire is to eventually have someone manage my email as an example.

The most successful business people do not do it all, they actually do what matters. That’s why sometimes it’s hard to reach them since they have trimmed down their communication and concentrate on very few things.

On the flip side, there are things that can and should be automated such as client searches (do it once correctly and access it within seconds weekly and monthly), board packages (leverage the team and just check in once a week) and utilize the operations team to do transaction coordination for you just to name a few.

If you were to spend half of your day or more on either speaking with people who want to sell or buy real estate or being with clients at showings - how different do you think your career would be in 3-6 months? And most importantly, what do you think is preventing you?

Recently I was recommended a book by someone who runs a massive real estate business. The book is called 10X is easier than 2X. Needless to say the title has caught my attention enough to get a copy of it on my Audible account.

While I’m at the early stages of reading it and dont agree with all of it (as with most books I read these days 😅), there are parts that have extremely valuable information. Here is a summary of what has touched me:

1. Successful people do not concentrate on a lot, instead they know what actually matters to them and concentrate on that. Yes, that means some less important things have to be outsourced and may not get done as well as you would have done yourself. Prime example is Steve Jobs of Apple - he was hyper focused on simplifying the company when he came back to it a second time around. My question for me is how can I simplify my email inbox to save time and dedicate it on more important items.

2. In order to go 2X there are a bunch of ways, however to go 10X many times there are very few paths. Very likely there is only one path to it.

3. Stripping away the complexities. This is something that we at CITY SPHERE work on daily and weekly to make sure you have a backbone to your business so strong that you can rely fully on it and not have to spend time doing operational work or creating manuals etc.

AND EXTREMELY IMPORTANT - SURROUNDING YOURSELF WITH RIGHT PEOPLE! Most of my growth either came from making mistakes and going through difficulties or being in proximity to really incredible people from whom I’ve learned a lot. Julia and I meet with a coach 1-2 times a week for the past year - it has shaken up many of our core beliefs and has been one of the best investments we’ve done. Some of the deepest work on myself that I have ever done.
