**Title:** The Corridor of Watchers
**Description:**
The alien walks beside the pharaoh through a corridor lined with towering stone figures carved in the likeness of ancient rulers. Their eyes, once dull and lifeless, now glow faintly as the pair passes.
The floor hums beneath each step.
Hieroglyphs ripple along the walls, rearranging in subtle patterns that seem to record movement, presence, and intent. The corridor stretches farther than geometry should allow, bending gently as if the structure is adjusting itself around them.
The pharaoh does not speak.
The alien does not hesitate.
Between the statues, narrow slits open silently in the stone — unseen mechanisms tracking heat, pulse, and resonance. Dust falls in slow spirals from the ceiling, disturbed by a vibration rising from deeper below.
This hallway is not ceremonial.
It is diagnostic.
The carved rulers are not memorials — they are anchors in a vast memory system embedded within the pyramid’s core. Every leader who passed through here left an imprint, layered into the living architecture.
As they near the corridor’s end, several statues dim.
One brightens.
A distant section of wall retracts, revealing a newly opened path descending into darkness.
The pyramid has made its assessment.
And it has decided to let them proceed.
