One missed party, two ravers, a Queens waterfront sunset, endless graffiti, my favorite raccoon mural, and the kind of skyline view that reminds you why this city never needs a backup plan. 🖤🌃

📞🇧🇬 Happy International Children’s Day! 🇧🇬📞

Pictured here in my native Plovdiv, Bulgaria, making my very first cold calls at the ripe old age of… whatever age this tiny sales machine was. 😆

Funny story: I genuinely used to call random people for fun and try to sell them imaginary vacations. No commission. No salary. No bonuses. Just pure enthusiasm and questionable business practices. 😂

Then I moved to America and discovered you can actually make a living talking to strangers on the phone. At that moment, my childhood dream officially came true. Apparently, I wasn’t playing—I was training. 📈☎️

Some kids wanted to be astronauts. Some wanted to be firefighters. I wanted to be a salesperson. Life is weird. 🤣

🖤 Day 2 of Total Bummer Fest 🖤

Rocked up in head-to-toe because goth girls forever, duh. Spent the evening with some of my favorite girls soaking up an incredible lineup at Knockdown Center.

Caught Starcleaner Reunion, then went straight into Her New Knife, Drop Nineteens, Julie, They Are Gutting a Body of Water, and closed out the night with the legendary The Jesus and Mary Chain. Every set hit differently, and every one was worth staying for.

Girls night out, all-black outfits, loud guitars, and enough shoegaze, dream pop, and post-punk energy to keep me happy for weeks. Sometimes the best therapy is your girlfriends and a wall of beautiful noise.

Queens absolutely delivered. 🖤🎸🦇

Did you know Ginevra de’ Benci at the National Gallery of Art is the only painting by Leonardo da Vinci permanently displayed in the Americas? 🇮🇹🎨

Painted around 1474, this portrait is one of Leonardo’s earliest known works and already shows the incredible realism and atmospheric detail that would later define the Mona Lisa.

One of the most fascinating details: the back of the painting is also painted by Leonardo and features a wreath of juniper, palm, and laurel surrounding the Latin phrase “Virtue adorns beauty.” The juniper is believed to be a visual pun on Ginevra’s name — ginepro means juniper in Italian.

Another detail that makes the portrait unique is her direct gaze and serious expression, which was highly unusual for female portraits during the Renaissance period.

More than 500 years later, the painting still feels strikingly modern.

Water biking under the DC sun, randomly becoming emotionally attached to a duck family on the basin, and then getting completely blown away by the Old Masters at the National Gallery of Art 🎨🦆🚴‍♂️
Washington really said: “here’s history, culture, cardio, and emotional support ducks all in one day.”
