My buyers were getting the keys to their new home.

But someone else was saying goodbye to over 30 years of memories.

That stayed with me.

The seller built this home with his wife, and sadly, he had since lost her. He wasn’t just leaving a house. He was leaving a lifetime of memories they created together.

My buyers’ best interest was always my priority, but advocating for them didn’t mean I couldn’t have compassion for the person on the other side.

So after closing, I gave him a gift to honor those memories.

His agent later called me and said, “I wish I would’ve thought of that.”

That moment reminded me why I serve the way I do. I saw the story behind his move, and if you trust me with yours, I’ll take the time to see your story too.

On Monday, I traveled to Virginia Beach to show my clients three homes.

The first one was, “Oh, I like this.”

The second was, “This isn’t a bad one.”

Then we walked into house number three… and without hesitation they said, “This is the one.”

That’s the moment every REALTOR® loves to witness.
