So twice now when selling a house companies that sell piers come out and tell us we need 9 piers and another company says no you only need 7 not trusting this we decided to call a structural engineer and both times both houses with separate engineers.

Tell us we need zero piers that the cracks are minor and cause simply by dry weather. Both engineers said many times pier are put in where they should not be and it actually stresses and can damage the structure. If you are told you need piers and want a second opinion spend the money on a engineer so you know how to handle the situation correctly.
