To build a 5,000 sf Colonial house with average finishes (not including the lot) would cost a minimum of $400 per square foot.

Finishing the basement would add a minimum of $150,000.

Back at the end of February of last year, I was contacted by someone who had been referred by a couple of local Northville residents. The house belonged to her parents that have been gone a long time. This was the house that she and her family grew up in and built a lifetime of cherished memories.

What I have found is that to can be very difficult for folks to work through the process of selling the house that had so much love, so many memories, and sometimes years of trinkets and keepsakes.

Yesterday, we closed on this house. To accommodate my Seller, I met her at her office in Howell with my closer to pre-sign to avoid having to take an afternoon off of work to travel to & from Northville. After signing all of her necessary documents, she thanked me for all of my assistance in finding contractors, care, & guidance for the past 18 months. As I got up to leave, she asked if she could give me a hug.

Want to know my why? Helping people young & old, during their most enjoyable or challenging times in life is a gift. People, families have choices in who they are going to hire. I'm so grateful to have helped this woman and her family move on.

Did I mention I got a hug at the end? That's a bonus.
