Today starts the NH Gives fundraising event - including a special opportunity to support this local organization that helps our community and neighbors. Deb Horton, the president and founder of Catamount Womenaid, had a dream and due to her perseverance and dedication, Catamount Womenaid became a reality in 2011. Deb is a clinical social worker and service to the community has always been a priority. She learned about Womenaid when she applied as a validator to a different Womenaid and recognized how a small amount of money made such a difference. When Deb searched for a Womenaid in Deerfield and realized there was none, she recruited a group of dedicated women and formed a women-led board to create Catamount Womenaid. The rest is history. As of this year, Catamount Womenaid has given over $100,000 to our neighbors in need. ALL the funds raised by Catamount Womenaid go to people in need and ALL of the work is done by volunteers.
