MCBRIDE SUES THE CITY OF O’FALLON ‼️
St. Charles County Missouri Scanner Traffic
McBride Homes recently filed a lawsuit against the city of O'Fallon after the city rejected one of the company’s proposed housing developments.

According to reports, the dispute centers on McBride’s plan to build about 276 homes in O’Fallon.

The O’Fallon City Council voted against the proposal after significant public opposition from residents concerned about issues like:⬇️

-Traffic congestion
-School overcrowding
-Density of the subdivision
-Infrastructure strain
-Overall growth impacts on the area

McBride claims the city’s denial was “illegal” and says the project met zoning and planning requirements. The company argues O’Fallon improperly blocked the development despite previous approvals and planning standards.

The city aldermen, meanwhile, sided with residents who opposed the subdivision and defended its authority to reject the plan.

Mayor Bill Hennessy was involved in the process and was quoted as saying “See you in court folks.”

Reports indicate the subdivision proposal was ultimately rejected by a one-vote margin after heavy public opposition over traffic, density, and growth concerns.

The mayor had previously participated in earlier Planning & Zoning discussions involving the Caballo Farms project tied to McBride Homes.

Starting May 1, the City of Wentzville is transitioning to an updated contract with Meridian Waste. While Meridian has been the solid waste hauler for over a decade, this update includes changes to billing and transitions customer service directly to Meridian to better serve residents with improved response times and efficiency. The first bill reflecting this change will be mailed from Meridian mid-April and covers the service period for May, June and July.

Here’s how solid waste billing will work moving forward:

• Solid waste service will be billed in three-month increments (not tied to calendar quarters).
• Each bill covers the upcoming three months of service.
• Your next bill will arrive in July, followed by bills in October, January and so on.
• You will need to re-enroll in autopay directly with Meridian. Current autopay accounts can not be transferred.

Also important:
• You will still receive a separate monthly bill from the City of Wentzville for water and sewer.
• Solid waste is no longer included in your City utility bill.

Beginning the week of March 16 and continuing through early April, new trash, recycling and yard-waste carts will be delivered throughout Wentzville as part of this spring’s solid waste updates.

Meridian currently provides waste collection services and will expand its role on May 1 to include billing and customer service.
