"Is it actually smart to buy right now, or should I just keep renting?" 🧐
Honestly, I get asked this all the time, and my answer might surprise you: Renting is NOT throwing money away.
Seriously! If renting gives you the flexibility you need right now, or gives you time to save without worrying about unexpected repair costs, it’s a totally valid choice. There is zero shame in that game.
But... if you’re starting to get that itch to paint the walls whatever color you want, get a pet without asking permission, and stop watching your hard-earned money fund your landlord's retirement, it might be time to see what buying would look like for you.
Here is the simplest way to break it down:
🔑 Renting gives you total flexibility and a predictable monthly bill, but you don't get anything back when you leave.
🏠 Buying means putting roots down and building your own long-term wealth, but it also means you’re responsible for the repairs.
You don’t need a flawless credit score or a massive 20% down payment to start looking into it. You just need a clear picture of what’s possible for your specific budget.
If you're sitting on the fence and just want a friendly sounding board to look at the numbers with you (completely pressure-free, I promise!), I'm here for it.
