“Slow down.”
A mentor has been telling me that for a while now.
The thing is…he never really explained what he meant, and if you know me, you know slowing down isn’t exactly my natural setting. 😅
My mind rarely stops. The visions come often. The ideas keep flowing. The responsibility of building people, businesses, opportunities, and purpose-driven work has kept me moving for years.
So when he would say, “slow down,” I honestly thought he just didn’t understand everything I was trying to accomplish.
But now, I think I get it.
Slowing down was never about doing less.
It was about creating enough space to think clearly.
Now that I’ve been intentional about building the right team around me, I don’t have to carry everything alone. I’m able to sit with the vision a little longer. I’m able to process opportunities instead of reacting to them. I’m able to make sound decisions for myself and for the people connected to me.
And perhaps most importantly…
I’m able to enjoy the wins.
Not just my own, but the wins of those around me.
I’ve become intentional about who I listen to because not everyone has earned the right to speak into the future you’re building. Wisdom matters. Alignment matters. Perspective matters.
For so long I was focused on the next goal, the next project, the next mountain.
Now I’m learning to honor the moment I’m standing in.
Because sometimes the blessing isn’t what’s next.
Sometimes the blessing is having enough peace to fully experience what’s happening right now. ✨
