🏡 Sometimes being a Realtor means thinking one step ahead and asking the questions that aren't necessarily part of your transaction—but could make all the difference for your client.
I recently represented a seller who was moving out of the area and purchasing another home at the same time. Knowing she would be juggling a move and two closings, I suggested that the proceeds from the sale be sent directly to the title company handling the purchase of her new home. That way, she wouldn't have to receive and then turn around and transfer those funds herself.
It seemed like a simple solution.
But when I made a follow-up call to make sure everything was coordinated, we discovered that the title company on the purchase side hadn't received the necessary communication about the sale.Had we not caught it when we did, we could have reached closing on her sale only to discover that the funds weren't properly coordinated for her purchase—potentially putting both closings and her move at risk.
That's the part of real estate people don't always see.
It's not just writing contracts, scheduling inspections and getting to the closing table.
It's anticipating problems.
It's asking the extra question.
It's thinking about what happens after your transaction.
And sometimes, it's making a phone call simply because you want to make sure your client's entire plan comes together.
Because my client's move wasn't just another transaction to me. It was her life, her home and her next chapter.
Real estate is about people first. That's how I choose to do business every single day. ❤️
