18 years ago today (half my lifetime ago), I officially enlisted in the U.S. Navy. That morning before going to boot camp, my alarm clock woke me up to the Mary Jane Girls song “All Night Long”.

Every time I hear that song, it reminds me of that day lol.

I was a quiet, shy kid who struggled with many things growing up. Making that decision came with the understanding that the journey would not be easy.

It became the foundation for how my life would turn out. Things happened for a reason.

To those who were a part of my 5-year journey in the service, thank you.
