Open Streets: West Walnut is back this Sunday, September 20, turning Walnut Street from Broad to 19th and 18th Street from Chestnut to Locust into nearly eight blocks of car free city life.

Stroll the neighborhood, grab a table, shop local and stay awhile. This Sunday’s lineup includes live music, Bubble Magic, Double Dutch lessons and an Eagles game broadcast at 1 PM.

Books & Bites, Spruce Street Commons’ resident book club, took us to Australia this month. 📚🇦🇺

Our latest read was Mad Mabel by , so we brought a little of the story to the table with tea, a Mad Mabel inspired gin cocktail, and bites inspired by the book.

Even dessert joined the discussion, with Malted Milk Chocolate Mousse and Caramel Apple Pie parfaits nodding to moments from Mabel’s story.

Good books. Good bites. Good company.
