🐟 OKAY PHILLY, WHO HAS THE BEST FRIED FISH IN THE CITY? 🐟

⭐ My Rating: 6/10

I’m Khalid Nathan Aleem, The Real Estate Bul and today I’m running through Philadelphia trying to find the best fried fish in the city, one spot at a time. Pulled up on The Fish Jawn at 18th and Washington and grabbed their fried fish hoagie. Sauce carried the whole sandwich, that’s the standout for sure. Portion was light though, and the white roll didn’t do it for me. Still solid, just not top of the list yet. Heads up, they’re a truck so they’re not out every day, look them up before you go.

🚨 BURLINGTON IS MOVING TO PHILLY 👀🏙️

After more than 50 years headquartered in South Jersey, Burlington Stores is planning a major move to University City.

🏢 New HQ: 3151 Market Street at Schuylkill Yards
💰 About $370 MILLION planned investment
👥 1,500 employees expected to relocate from NJ
💼 Another 500 planned hires
📅 Employee moves expected to begin no earlier than late 2028

But here’s what I’m watching from a Philadelphia real estate perspective…

When a major employer brings this many workers into an area, it can create new demand for housing, restaurants, businesses, and services. That doesn’t automatically mean 2,000 new homebuyers — plenty of employees could commute or rent — but it’s another major investment worth watching around University City.

Philadelphia is putting incentives behind the deal too, including a $7 million forgivable loan, while Pennsylvania is providing $30 million in grants.

So the real question is: Will Burlington’s move eventually have a noticeable impact on real estate around University City and the surrounding neighborhoods? 👇🏾
