New In The Pines

One of our favorite holiday traditions is picking out our fresh Christmas tree and wreaths from the Pinecrest Wrestling fundraiser!

We look forward to it every year, and we love knowing that something we enjoy so much also helps support the hardworking athletes on Pinecrest High School’s men’s and women’s wrestling teams.

If you’re planning to buy a fresh tree or wreath this Christmas, consider supporting these local student athletes! It’s a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season while giving back to our community.

Cancer is one of those things that touches almost everyone in some way, and for me, it’s very personal. I’ve had my own experience with breast cancer, which makes me especially proud that our daughter, Eizabeth, has chosen to run the New York City Marathon this November while raising money for the American Cancer Society. Training for 26.2 miles is no small undertaking, and knowing she’s doing it for a cause that means so much to our family makes it even more special. If you’d like to cheer her on with a donation, I’ve included the link to her fundraiser in my bio. Every contribution, no matter the amount, supports the American Cancer Society and the work they do for people facing cancer and their families.

October plans have arrived. 🍂

This is one of my favorite times of year in the Sandhills, and there is so much happening this month.

I rounded up some of the October events worth putting on your calendar, from small-town festivals to fall days and corn mazes on the farm to Halloween fun. Some are right here in Moore County, and a few are worth the short drive.

Where are you headed first?

As always, dates and details can change, so check with the venue before heading out.
