Prosper Town Council postponed a key vote on zoning for a planned multibillion-dollar mini-Venice built around a 15-acre lagoon and thousands of residential units.

Town leaders said during Tuesday night’s meeting that they want tweaks to developer Jeff Blackard’s proposed 143-acre Italian-inspired village, called The Marco, at the northeast corner of the Dallas North Tollway and U.S. 380. Blackard told The Dallas Morning News that the requested adjustments don’t substantially change plans for the project.

Developer Crow Holdings is pushing forward with its Old Parkland East office campus expansion, and demolition to clear the block is nearly done.

Crews have begun tearing down an apartment complex at 2530 Reagan St. and other structures on the parcel. The 2½-acre site bounded by Fairmount Street, Shelby Avenue, Reagan Street and Maple Avenue will house the Old Parkland East expansion. The new portion will include 300,000 square feet of office space and multiple buildings.

Lite-On Technology Corp. officials held a groundbreaking ceremony in August for the company's planned manufacturing facility in McKinney.

The ceremony marks the “official start” of building out a space at the Core5 Logistics Center in McKinney, a McKinney Economic Development Corp. news release states. The $919 million project was announced earlier this summer and is expected to create 600 jobs over the next several years.

The Dallas Mavericks have filed to rezone more than 100 acres at the former Valley View mall site, marking a significant step toward leaving Dallas' urban core for a new arena in the northern part of the city. The NBA franchise released a statement saying the rezoning request is the "next step toward a new home in Dallas."



The team has until January 2028 to close on the land under an option-purchase agreement that requires monthly payments and could ultimately cost around $51 million for the site that once housed Valley View Center.
