Did you know the City of Savannah has a Rain Barrel Voucher Program?

Considering how much rain we get around here, this actually makes a lot of sense. The program allows City water customers to receive up to TWO rain barrels per water account.

You collect rainwater from your roof and gutters, then use it to water your plants, flowers and landscaping.

It’s a small thing, but it can help:
• Cut down on water usage
• Save money on watering your yard
• Reduce stormwater runoff
• Do our part to help with Savannah’s stormwater issues

And before you go buy one yourself, check to see if you qualify for the City’s program!

I’m always coming across little homeowner tips and Savannah resources that I think are worth sharing, so I figured I’d pass this one along.

⚠️ Important Update: State of Emergency & Your Contract ⚠️

With the **State of Emergency** declared for our area due to wildfire conditions, I want to ensure my clients know how their real estate transactions are protected.

If your property is in an affected county (including Chatham, Bryan, and Effingham), the Georgia REALTORS® contract provides the following:

* 🕒 Automatic Extensions: All unexpired deadlines—including Due Diligence, Financing, Appraisal, and Closing—are automatically extended.
* 📅 Duration: The extension lasts for the length of the emergency, up to 8 days.
* 📝 No Action Needed: This happens automatically; no new amendments are required to protect your timelines.
* 🔥 Burn Ban: A mandatory outdoor burn ban is currently in effect for all 91 impacted counties.

My Advice to You:

If you have a closing or a deadline coming up this week, don't panic. The contract is designed to protect you during emergencies just like this. I am closely monitoring the situation for all my active files.
