What a privilege it is. 🤍 To live somewhere you can’t imagine leaving. To know your neighbors’ names. To paint the walls without asking anyone. There’s a lot to think about when buying a home, but some things can’t be measured in square footage or resale value.

Here in Maine, it’s morning walks by the water, knowing your favorite local spots, summers that never feel long enough, and having a community that feels like home.

Nothing says fall in Maine quite like a trip to the orchard. Here are a few of my favorite spots, each with a little something different to make the trip worthwhile:

🍎 Hansel’s Orchard | North Yarmouth
A smaller, peaceful orchard that’s perfect for keeping things simple and enjoying a quintessential fall afternoon.

🍎 | Limerick
There’s more than apples here! Depending on the season, you can find a variety of pick-your-own fruit, plus plenty to browse at the farm.

🍎 | Limington
One of those classic Maine orchards that has been around for generations, making it a great stop if you love places with a little history behind them.

🍎 | Standish
Come for the apples, but make time for the bakery! Their homemade treats make this an especially good stop when you want the full fall experience.

And just like that, another Maine summer has come to an end. ☀️

Our family’s goal this summer was simple: spend as much time outside and on the water as possible. With our kids getting older, we’re realizing that summers may start to look a little different for our family in the next few years, which made us appreciate this one even more.

Some of our favorite memories included camping at remote Richardson Lake, where we boated into our campsite, long days swimming on Rangeley and Sebago Lakes, lobster bakes, dinners downtown in Portland, and plenty of those simple days that never made it onto the calendar but somehow became some of the best ones.

We feel incredibly lucky to call Maine home and have so much of what we love right in our backyard. Summer 2026, you were a good one. Until next year! 💛
