Moving from island life to Washington definitely came with a few surprises 😂🌺🌲

For those who don’t know, I’m originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. I met my husband while he was stationed there with the Army, and from there our military journey began… and the rest is history.

Eventually that journey brought us to Washington, and living here has definitely been a very different experience from growing up in Hawaii.

If you’re moving to Washington, PCSing to JBLM, relocating to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, or thinking about buying a home near Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup, Lacey, Olympia, or the surrounding JBLM area, you might be surprised by a few of these things too.

MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT LIVING NEAR JBLM 👀

Closer to base does not always mean a shorter commute.

Not every JBLM gate is the same.

And Seattle is definitely not right next door during rush hour.

If ZARA sold real estate… this is exactly how I imagine the listing tour. 😂

Clean lines, dramatic angles, a little attitude, and somehow the kitchen gets its own campaign.

Real estate marketing does not have to be boring. When I list a home, I want people to stop scrolling, remember it, and actually want to see it in person.

Because sometimes selling the house starts with selling the feeling. 🏡

When everything in the transaction starts falling apart… but your Realtor doesn’t. ☕️

Inspection issues. Financing hiccups. Appraisal surprises. Title questions. Deadlines. Last minute negotiations.

Real estate can get chaotic.

My job isn’t to promise you that nothing will ever go wrong. My job is to stay calm when it does, figure out the next move, protect your interests, and keep the transaction moving forward.

Because sometimes being a good Realtor means standing there like everything is completely fine while internally solving 17 problems at once. 😂
