Took a quick drive through the new Broadcast District in Wyomissing—right across from Target. My office sits right on Broadcasting Road, so I’ve been watching this site transform from empty farmland into an actual city. It’s genuinely mind-blowing.
Here’s what’s coming:
Retail (~120,000 square feet)
Anchored by Whole Foods Market (first in Berks County). Most of the space is already leased. Announced tenants include:

• Ruth’s Chris Steak House
• Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen

Additional tenants (pet services, fitness, or another restaurant) may still be added. A hotel was also mentioned in earlier plans.
Housing
• ~775–800 total residential units across the project
• Lennar is building 441 townhomes and single-family homes
• The remaining units are primarily apartments and other residences
• Home sales expected to begin winter 2026; model homes will be available
• Pricing starts in the $300,000s
Green space & amenities
• About 2.5 acres of open greenspace
• Outdoor fitness areas
• Dog park
• Community gathering spaces
• Roughly 1-mile walking trail
• Some land was dedicated to the township for a potential new Spring Township library (separate from the main development)
