Union Gospel Mission Sacramento All of the items, food, and services are provided without charge. We are open for drop-off seven days a week, 8 AM—8 PM.

Since 1962, the Union Gospel Mission has provided food, clothing, shelter, and a life-changing Gospel message to Sacramento's homeless and struggling populations. Union Gospel Mission remains a shining light providing more than 8,000 monthly meals, clothing, hygiene items, shelter, a life-changing gospel message, and an in-house Christ-centered recovery program to the homeless and poor of Sacramento 365 days a year. The Mission operates without tax or government support and is funded entirely by the generous donations of individuals and organizations in the community. Please consider donating to the Mission, and remember that we are always looking for clothing and assorted items for our Men’s Shelter and Women’s Clothing Closet. This month marks 40 years of service by our Frontline Director, Stephen Jarrett.

What some don’t know was that he was once a participant of our recovery program.

After overcoming alcohol addiction and graduating from the program, he came on staff to use his skills to serve others.

After four decades, we commend his commitment, faithfulness, and dedication to the cause of the Mission: reaching the least, the last, and the lost for the Gospel.

Thank you, Stephen, for dedicating so much of your life to caring for others, and for being used by the Lord to change lives. 💙

We made new friends… and it’s not just because they sent us coffee.

Pink Cloud Coffee was founded to help people recover from addiction and build a life in sobriety - one sustainably sourced cup of coffee at a time.

We love meeting others who are helping people find victory over addiction. That’s what we’re doing here Union Gospel Mission 365 days a year through our Men’s New Life Program!

The story of a brother’s love - A man drove up from a distant city during our Women’s Clothes Closet day where a crowd of ladies was receiving clothes, snacks, and compassion.

His sister was in that crowd.

She’d spent years in homelessness and drugs but had finally found the courage to reach out for help.

Though much of her adult life was lived on the street, her brother never stopped praying for her.

Finally face-to-face, he scooped his sister up in a giant bear hug. 

After receiving the care she needed at UGM, he then transported her to a women’s rehabilitation program where she will have time to recover and begin a new life.

Please pray for her and her desire to live a life with Jesus.

Pray for her body as it heals, her mind as it recovers, and her soul as it is renewed.

Thank you for making it possible for this woman to find help and for a brother to reunite with the sister he’s been waiting for.

Our ovens broke… and God provided new ones!

Every day, we cook food for 150+ people, and the ovens are the center of it all. After our ovens broke, the Lord provided a way to receive two brand new ovens that will be used for years to come to feed hungry and weary bodies who come to UGM for help.

We’re grateful and excited to use these machines to serve the least, the last, and the lost of our community 🧑‍🍳
