City of St. Petersburg to Host Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event
Saturday, September 5, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Pinellas Technical College - St. Petersburg (901 34th St. S) to give residents the opportunity to dispose of hazardous household products that should not be placed in normal trash collection.
Residents are encouraged to bring their household hazardous waste items to the event; trained professionals will ensure the items are disposed of in a safe, environmentally-friendly manner.
The City will collect items that pose a fire hazard or environmental concern if disposed of in regular household trash. Accepted items include:
Antifreeze
Gas
Household chemicals
Oil
Lawn and garden chemicals
Mercury-containing devices
Paint products
Pool/spa products
Rechargeable batteries
Signal flares
