The newly expanded parking lot at Coast Guard Beach Park is set to open to the public Friday ahead of Memorial Day weekend.

As part of the project, crews installed a permeable surface system beneath portions of the parking area designed to improve stormwater drainage by allowing water to flow more efficiently into the ground and surrounding retention ponds.

Landscaping work will continue in the coming weeks, including the planned installation of approximately 125 live oak trees that will help enhance the park’s natural beauty while providing additional shade for visitors in the future.

Portable restrooms will be available for public use as construction continues in other areas of the park, including additional ADA-accessible amenities, walkways, dune restoration, and the three-story lifeguard tower.

Thank you for your patience and support as improvements continue at Coast Guard Beach Park.
