This Saturday, I'm trading Texas Hill Country views for Palm Desert sunshine. ☀️🌴

And I have to admit...

This is a pretty good door to be opening. 😉

A beautiful Palm Desert home.
A sparkling pool.
Desert sunshine.
Palm trees.
And yours truly back in California doing what I've been doing for more than 16 years...

Opening doors and helping people find home. 🏡

One of the things I love most about maintaining my real estate business in both California and Texas is that these two places couldn't look more different—and somehow, I love them both.

Give me a Texas sunset and some Hill Country land one day...

And a Palm Desert pool with sunshine on my face the next. 😂

I'm not complaining.

But behind every Open House sign and every door I unlock is the same purpose:

Relationships. Service. And helping someone step into their next chapter.

🤍 FRONT PORCH FRIDAY | Taking Home on the Road

This week's Front Porch Friday won't actually be happening from my front porch.

I'll be on the road. 🚗🤍

And in true Channon fashion, apparently I don't know how to do a simple little trip. 😂

There are friends to see.
Family to love on.
Three listings I fully intend to secure. 🏡🔥
And because priorities are priorities...

I'll most definitely be finding my way back to Block CrossFit to throw some big weights around with some of my favorite people. 🏋🏻‍♀️😂

Because what would a trip be without squeezing in a little work, a lot of relationships, and something unnecessarily heavy?

But underneath all of that, there's something I'm really looking forward to this week:

Being with my people.

I've spent so much of this season building, growing, working and looking ahead. And I love every bit of it.

But there's something grounding about going back to the people and places that know you.

The friends you can pick right back up with.

The family you never get enough time with.

The gym where walking through the door feels familiar—and where apparently nobody cares that you're technically “on vacation” because the barbell is still waiting. 😂

And yes, even the work.

Three potential listings means three people trusting me with a new chapter of their lives. That's never just business to me.

So while there will be plenty of miles, appointments, conversations, contracts, workouts and probably more caffeine than necessary...

I don't want to rush through any of it.

I want to be present for it.

Because maybe home really isn't always a place.

Sometimes it's the people who know you best.
The relationships you've built along the way.
The work you're grateful to do.
And yes... sometimes it's a barbell surrounded by people you love. 😂🤍

This week I'm taking the front porch on the road.

Work hard. Lift heavy. Love your people. And thank Jesus for a life full enough to contain all three. 🙏🏻

🥖 COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT THURSDAY | Five Loaves Bakery

Okay San Antonio... this one comes with a warning. 😂

Once you try something from Five Loaves Bakery, there is a very good chance you'll start finding reasons why you need baked goods in your life.

Client gift? Obviously.
Something for the office? Absolutely.
Family coming over? Perfect.
Tuesday? Also seems like a perfectly legitimate reason. 😂

This week's Community Spotlight is Five Loaves Bakery, owned by the incredibly talented Ciarra Cooper.

And when I say this woman can BAKE... I mean everything.

Fresh sourdough.
Muffins.
Scones.
Cinnamon rolls.
Cakes.
Cookies.
And somehow every single thing I've tried has been amazing.

But we need to talk about the S'mores and Biscoff cookies. 🤤

Those deserve their own paragraph.

TO. DIE. FOR.

I'm pretty disciplined about my food, so when I tell you something is worth it... trust me. 😂

What I love even more is getting to support someone local who is putting her heart, talent and faith into something she's building. There is something special about buying from a small business and knowing there's an actual person behind every loaf, cookie and cinnamon roll.

And Ciarra's branding says it beautifully:

BEHIND THE SCENES WEDNESDAY | The Part You Don’t See 😂

Real estate on social media:

Cute outfit.
Pretty house.
Keys at closing.
Big smile.
✨ Congratulations! ✨

Real estate behind the scenes:

37 tabs open in my brain and approximately 14% battery on my phone. 😂

There are contracts to review, clients to call, appointments to coordinate, emails that somehow multiply while I’m answering emails, inspections, lenders, title, photographers, showings, meetings... and this week, travel gets thrown into the mix too.

And somewhere in there I still fully intend to eat every meal, get my workout in, spend time with my family and remember where I put my coffee. 😂

But here's the funny thing...

I genuinely love it.

The organized chaos.
The problem solving.
The relationships.
The phone calls that start with, “Okay Channon, don't panic, but...” 😂

Because behind every task on my list is a person who trusted me with something important.

That's the part people don't always see.

Real estate isn't simply showing beautiful homes.

It's answering the phone.
Remembering the details.
Following up when nobody else does.
Solving the problem before my client even knows there is one.
And keeping approximately 47 moving pieces moving in the same direction.

Some days I do it in heels looking completely put together.

Other days?

There's probably chicken in my purse and I'm answering emails from my car. 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

Either way...

I'm showing up.

And apparently that's what we're calling balance around here. 😉

🤠 TEXAS TIP TUESDAY | The Disclosure Is NOT the Inspection

You found the house. You love the house. The seller’s disclosure looks pretty clean.

So we’re good... right?

Not so fast. 😉

One of the things I remind my buyers is that a seller’s disclosure and a home inspection serve two very different purposes.

The seller is disclosing what they know about the property.

Your inspector is helping us uncover what we may not know yet.

And in Texas, there are a few things I pay especially close attention to:

🏠 Foundation and signs of movement
🌧️ Drainage and possible water intrusion
❄️ HVAC performance
🔨 Roof condition
🚿 Plumbing
🛠️ Previous repairs or modifications

Because here's the thing...

A home can be beautifully maintained.
It can have gorgeous countertops.
Fresh paint.
A spotless kitchen.
And a seller who has taken wonderful care of it.

That still doesn't tell me what's happening in the attic, behind the walls, under the foundation or on top of the roof.

And that's why I don't want my buyers skipping their due diligence just because everything looks good.

An inspection isn't about finding reasons not to buy the house.

It's about understanding what you're buying so you can make an educated decision about one of the biggest investments you'll make.

And if something does come up?

That's when having the right Realtor and the right team around you really matters. We evaluate it, ask questions, get additional opinions when necessary and figure out the best way forward.

Experience has taught me that sometimes the most important part of my job isn't opening the door to the house you fall in love with.

It's helping you understand the house you're falling in love with. 🤍

That is a responsibility I take very seriously.

🤍 MOTIVATION MONDAY | You Asked for This

Yesterday I thanked God for a full plate.

Today?

It’s time to get to work. 🔥

There’s something I remind myself of when the calendar looks intimidating, the to-do list is long, and I’m wondering how I’m possibly going to fit it all in:

I asked for this.

I prayed for growth.
I prayed for opportunity.
I prayed for a thriving business.
I prayed for relationships worth nurturing.
I prayed for doors to open.

So when they do, I don't want to complain that I'm busy.

I want to be strong enough, disciplined enough, and grateful enough to walk through them.

That doesn't mean I have to do everything perfectly.

It means I show up.

I handle what's in front of me.
I keep my word.
I take care of my body.
I make the call.
I get on the plane.
I serve my clients.
I make time for the people I love.
And when I'm tired, I remember why I started.

There will always be days when motivation isn't there.

That's when discipline takes over.

And when I start questioning whether I can handle everything God has placed in front of me, I remind myself:

If He brought me to it, I trust Him to give me what I need to walk through it.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” — Colossians 3:23

So here's the energy for this Monday:

No complaining about the life I prayed for.
No shrinking from the opportunities I asked for.
No waiting until I “feel ready.”

Faith up.
Head down.
Get to work.

🤍 SUNDAY RESET | A Full Plate & A Grateful Heart

This week is going to be a full one.

Work. Meetings. Clients. Travel. Deadlines. A calendar that already has me wondering exactly how I'm going to fit everything in. 😂

But before I let myself feel overwhelmed by everything on my plate, I want to stop and remember something...

I prayed for so much of what is keeping me busy today.

The business.
The opportunities.
The clients who trust me.
The relationships.
The ability to travel and build something I’m proud of.

Praise Jesus for a full plate. 🙏🏻

What a blessing to have things worth working hard for.

But there's another side of that for me this week.

When life gets busy, I have a tendency to immediately shift into get-it-done mode. I start thinking three steps ahead, checking boxes and mentally moving on to the next thing before I've even finished the one in front of me.

And sometimes the people I love are sitting right there while my mind is already somewhere else.

I don't want to do that this week.

I want to work hard when it's time to work.

Be completely present with my clients when they need me.

Handle the meetings. Make the flights. Chase the goals. Take care of my body. Do all the things.

But when I'm with my family?

I want to be WITH my family.

Phone down. Mind quiet. Fully there.

Because a successful life isn't much of a success if we're so busy building it that we miss the people we're building it for.

So my Sunday Reset this week isn't about figuring out how to squeeze one more thing into the calendar.

It's about reminding myself to slow down enough to actually experience the life God has so graciously filled.

Work hard.
Love harder.
Stay present.
And thank Jesus for every bit of it. 🤍

My prayer heading into this week:

Lord, thank You for the full plate. Give me the discipline to handle it well, the wisdom to know what deserves my attention, and the presence of mind to never be too busy to recognize the blessings sitting right in front of me.
