This long-running San Antonio tradition brings live jazz, great energy, and a whole lot of community into Civic Park and admission is FREE. This year’s festival runs September 25–26 and features nationally recognized jazz artists along with local talent.

I love highlighting the things that make San Antonio feel like home, and events like this are a perfect example.

Feature Friday ❤️

Today is American Indian Heritage Day in Texas, observed on the last Friday of September. It’s a day to recognize the history, culture, and continued contributions of Indigenous people throughout our state.

For today’s Feature Friday, I’m highlighting American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions (AIT-SCM) right here in San Antonio.

Their work focuses on preserving and protecting the culture and traditions of the Tap Pilam Coahuiltecan Nation and other Indigenous communities connected to the Spanish Colonial Missions of South Texas and Northern Mexico. Their programs include education, cultural preservation, community outreach, Indigenous arts, wellness, youth leadership, and heritage tours led by mission descendants.

San Antonio’s story didn’t begin with the buildings we recognize today. There are generations of people, traditions, and communities behind the places we call home.

Today feels like a good day to listen, learn, and honor that history. ❤️

Texas Tip Tuesday 🏡

When it comes to selling, buyers start forming an opinion of your home before they ever walk through the front door.

That first impression begins online with your photos, and then continues the moment they pull up to the curb. If the outside feels inviting, well cared for, and welcoming, buyers are already walking in with a better mindset.

That doesn’t mean you need a full makeover. Most of the time, it’s the simple things that make the biggest difference freshening up flower beds, trimming bushes, touching up paint, cleaning the entry, clearing clutter, and making sure the home feels loved and move-in ready.

And once the home is looking its best, pricing still matters. A beautiful home that is overpriced can sit. A well-prepared home that is positioned right has a much better chance of attracting strong attention early.

Selling is not about guessing. It’s about presentation, strategy, and making sure buyers see the value from the very beginning.

Ask Jollyn Monday 🏡 “Is fall a bad time to buy or sell a home in Texas?”

Not at all.

Texas real estate doesn’t follow the same seasonal rules as every other part of the country. Fall can actually be a great time to make a move because some buyers and sellers who were “just looking” during summer have stepped aside, while the people still in the market tend to be more serious.

For buyers, that can sometimes mean less competition and a little more breathing room to make a good decision.

For sellers, it means presentation, pricing, and strategy matter even more. The right buyer may absolutely still be out there we just have to make sure your home gets their attention.

The calendar doesn’t decide whether it’s the right time to move. Your goals do.

Sunday Homeowner Minute ❤️🏡

Sunday is a good day to slow down, be grateful, and remember that home is more than four walls.

It’s where we rest, gather, pray, celebrate, and take care of the people we love.

And part of being thankful for what we have is taking care of it.

So today’s little homeowner reminder is simple: take a few minutes to walk around your home and notice the small things before they become big things. Check that filter. Look for leaks. Tighten what’s loose. Clean what’s been ignored. Little maintenance now can save a lot of frustration later.

Saturday Spotlight ❤️

One of the things I love most about San Antonio is how much culture, history, food, music, and small business all seem to live in the same places.

This Saturday, I’m spotlighting Historic Market Square.

If you haven’t been in a while, this is a good weekend to wander through, grab something to eat, listen to live music, check out the shops, and just enjoy a little piece of what makes San Antonio feel like San Antonio.

Their regular Saturday programming runs 10 AM–6 PM, with local eats, artists, and live entertainment.

And since we’re in Hispanic Heritage Month, it feels like an especially good time to support the places that keep our culture, traditions, and local businesses alive.

Sometimes the best way to love where you live is simply to go enjoy it. ❤️

Feature Friday

This week I’m highlighting Soldiers’ Angels, a San Antonio–based organization that supports service members, veterans, and military families across the country.

This one is especially meaningful to me because I’ve actually volunteered with Soldiers’ Angels myself. It’s been a while, but I still personally support the organization and believe in its mission.

Their work is centered on making sure service members and veterans know they are remembered, appreciated, and supported — and that message has always stayed with me.

“May No Soldier Go Unloved.”

As a Veteran, that means something a little different. Service may end, but support shouldn’t.

If you’re looking for an organization to learn more about, volunteer with, or support, this is one I’m proud to stand behind.

Behind the Transaction Thursday 🏡

One thing people don’t always realize is that real estate help doesn’t have to stop at a city limit.

I recently worked with clients who were moving to Texas from another state. They needed help here, but they also needed a trusted professional in the city they were leaving. Because I’ve built relationships with agents across the country, I was able to connect them with someone in their area and help keep communication flowing on both sides.

That meant fewer moving parts for them to manage, fewer unanswered questions, and a much smoother transition into Texas.
