The city-owned site at 7th & Market, once slated to become San Diego's first Ritz-Carlton hotel, is being reimagined again. After two previous plans fell through, the city is now eyeing a multi-use project that could blend housing, retail, and a smaller hotel on one of the most coveted blocks downtown, just steps from Petco Park and the Gaslamp Quarter. 👀

It's a reminder of just how valuable downtown land has become, and whatever rises here will help shape the future of Downtown living for a generation. 🌆

NASCAR is making history and it's happening right here in San Diego. 🏁⚓

NASCAR returns to Southern California in 2026 with first-of-its-kind street races at Naval Base Coronado, the first NASCAR events EVER contested on an active military base. And the timing couldn't be more perfect. The race weekend coincides with the 250th anniversary of the United States Navy. 🇺🇸

Here's the full lineup: NASCAR's top three series will all race on the Coronado track, the Truck Series on Friday (June 19), the Xfinity Series on Saturday (June 20), and the top-tier Cup Series on Sunday (June 21). The 3.4-mile, 16-turn course is the longest on NASCAR's entire 2026 schedule, winding around San Diego Bay with aircraft carriers and fighter jets lining the track. 🛩️🏎️

Friday is Navy Community Day, open exclusively to U.S. Navy members and a limited number of Coronado residents, while ticket holders from the general public are welcome June 20–21. Speed, service, and the most stunning backdrop in all of motorsports. This is going to be unforgettable. 🙌
