A family reached out to us because they were looking for answers. They're sick, their ERMI is showing a problem, and they knew someone who'd used and recommended our service.

We got to help this family - they have a lot of information about what's going on in their home and have an idea of how to move forward.

Their sweet daughter drew this picture before we left. We love the details. Our daughter, also an artist, noticed many more than we did, and it makes it that much more special! ❤️

BAGEL THE MOLD DETECTION DOG — THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE 🐾❤️ In October, a City of Palo Alto building inspector came into my room at The Opportunity Center and documented conditions that included water damage and what appeared to be mold. She told me she needed to review the building plans...

We love to see mold getting more recognized as contributing to illness, but what the article doesn't talk about is how long-term exposure can impact folks. It's focus is on mold infection in the body, which is definitely a concern, but even more common is health issues stemming from long-term exposure. People associate allergies and respiratory symptoms with mold, and many understand that mold exposure can cause skin and gut issues, cognitive issues, migraine / headaches, insomnia, pain, autoimmune conditions, and hormone disruption. But many of our clients come to us because their doctors believe their cancer, dementia, ALS, etc. are cause from long-term mold exposure. Not everyone reacts to mold in the short term, sometimes the effects can take decades to manifest as health issues.

A new study suggests the threat of mold-associated illnesses may be severely underestimated.

What if house fires could be put out without water? A house fire is already catastrophic enough on its own, without having to deal with potential mold growth because of the water used to put it out. What an amazing idea! ❤️

Here's something weird about our job.

Every time Bagel finds mold, we smile...not because mold is good, but because a family finally has answers.

They've been sick. They've been dismissed. They've been told nothing's wrong.

Then Bagel walks in and points to an innocuous looking piece of drywall. They pull it out and it’s covered in mold and their son’s eczema starts improving almost immediately.

The relief they feel that they were not crazy, and they’ve figured out how to help ease their child’s suffering…that’s why we do what we do.
