This past weekend I had the opportunity to see the final performance of Fiddler on the Roof at the Asolo Theatre, after a fellow Coldwell Banker Realtor strongly encouraged me not to miss it.
I’m very glad I listened.
Once again, the talent and creativity at Asolo absolutely amazed me. In my opinion, this performance was even more powerful and engaging than when I saw it on Broadway.
What made this production especially unique was that the music was not provided by a traditional orchestra, but by the actors themselves; creating an intimate, emotional, and incredibly immersive experience.

Moments like this are one of the many reasons I proudly call Sarasota home. Yes, we are blessed with sunshine, beautiful weather, and world-class beaches. But Sarasota also offers an extraordinary arts and cultural scene that rivals major metropolitan cities.

Apparently the world has bigger problems… but my attention lately has been laser-focused on Florida’s newest invasion: Love Bugs.
Or as I prefer to call them… those F’in bugs. 😆

Since they’ve officially taken over my balcony, I figured they must serve some purpose besides testing my patience.

So I researched them.
Turns out these romantic little pests only live about 3–4 days, spending nearly their entire adult life:
• mating
• flying attached together
• laying eggs
• and apparently targeting my condo specifically

But surprisingly, they’re actually useful. Their larvae help break down dead plants and grass, aerate soil, and recycle nutrients back into the ecosystem.

So while they may be ruining car washes and happy hours on the balcony… at least they’re helping the planet. 🌎🐞

Great spending the morning at the Commercial Real Estate Alliance event at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Sarasota in downtown Sarasota.

The panel featured Chris Gallagher of Hoyt Architects, Sadek Omar of ORE Development, and Bill Waddill, director of The Bay Park Conservancy.

One thing I found especially interesting was hearing how these leaders regularly visit and meet with officials in other cities to compare ideas, study successful urban planning, and explore ways to continue improving our already amazing city.

A major takeaway was the importance of supporting local businesses to keep downtown Sarasota vibrant, active, and unique. A thriving downtown is about more than buildings. It is about creating energy, connection, and community.

I was also delighted to attend alongside two great agents from my office, Margot Vigar and Joe Amabile. We learned a lot and shared a few laughs along the way as well.

🦷 As a Former Massachusetts Dentist… I Have Questions

Researchers studying a Neanderthal tooth believe they may have found evidence of intentional “dental drilling” performed 130,000 years ago.

Apparently this caveman had a massive cavity and may have taken a sharpened stone tool to the tooth to relieve the pressure and pain.

As someone who practiced dentistry I’m trying to imagine explaining THAT treatment plan:

“Good news… no root canal.
Bad news… here’s your rock.” 🪨

Now, not everyone is convinced this was deliberate dentistry. Some experts believe the hole could have been caused by trauma, decay, or even repeated use of a primitive toothpick rather than an intentional procedure.

Still… if it was deliberate, this Neanderthal deserves serious respect.
No assistant
No anesthesia
No suction
Just grit, courage, and apparently a pain tolerance somewhere between superhero and completely insane.

Last week, the Insogna brothers headed out to the Bay Area to celebrate my sister’s 75th birthday.
Somehow my oldest brother convinced us to wear white shirts and bow ties for the occasion.

I decided to name the trip: “Bros With Bows.” 🎀

What followed was an incredible few days filled with family, laughter, and adventure:
Golden Gate Park, the stunning Monet exhibit, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, amazing meals, and memories that will stay with us for a long time.

It was also a reminder that the best moments in life usually have very little to do with things… and everything to do with the people we share them with.
