I’m proud to share that I have earned the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation.
Expanding my education in this area was important to me because housing decisions later in life rarely affect just one person. They can involve independence, safety, finances, years of belongings and an entire family trying to determine the right next step.
The need for informed guidance is growing. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 61.2 million Americans were age 65 or older in 2024—approximately 18% of the population. AARP also reports that 75% of adults age 50 and older would like to remain in their current homes, although 44% expect they may eventually relocate.
For many adult children, the process begins with a difficult question: Is Mom or Dad still safe and comfortable at home—and if something needs to change, where do we begin?
My goal is not to assume that moving is the answer. It is to help older adults and their families understand their options and create a manageable plan. That may include finding resources to age in place, downsizing, preparing and selling a longtime home, moving closer to family, transitioning to senior living or coordinating trusted local resources.
Sometimes the most helpful first step is simply starting the conversation before a crisis forces a decision. I’m honored to expand my services and provide thoughtful, patient guidance through these important transitions.
