IMPORTANT TO ALL SAVANNAH HOMEOWNERS! This morning City of Savannah Water Resources Department put on a zoom meeting discussing the new STORMWATER FEES & CREDITS to Chamber Members. It was not open to the public to view. THIS IS AFFECTING ALL SAVANNAH HOMEOWNERS! I recorded the 43-minute meeting for you to view.

Key takeaways . .

- You should have received a postcard in the mail from the city showing your upcoming calculated fee and how the come up with that figure. This number is based on the IMPERVIOUS SURFACE AREA of your home and land.

- From my understanding, your monthly fee will range from $4 - $12 per month. This amount is going straight to the city to improve, fix and create solutions to flooding issues throughout the city.

- You can apply for CREDITS or a REEVALUATION if you feel the city's estimate is incorrect. They mention this process in the video and also the points of contact for starting.

OH MARTHA, YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN! 🤣 Martha Stewart is part owner of this new app that is coming out or already active to HELP HOMEOWNERS REMEMBER MAINTANANCE TASKS!! ☑️ I have not done any research on this or checked it out. For those of you new to the area and our hurricane season, or those locals that just need a reminder, here is a quick tip article. This isn't the most in depth, but I wanted to post it because it immediately mentioned something I never thought of! PROTECTING ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS IN YOUR HOME! If a tree falls through your roof, or heaven forbid, your house truly floods, how many important paper documents will be destroyed?! Car titles, home deeds, birth certificate, social security card, etc!! GET PREPARED NOW!
