If I were buying a home in Seattle, these are the things I’d be looking for first… 👀🏡
Because a beautiful home is great, but the right home is about so much more than what you see in the photos.
Here’s what would make my list:
🌲 A great location over a perfect interior
Paint colors and finishes can be changed. Your commute, neighborhood, access to parks, and daily lifestyle are much harder to change.
☀️ Natural light
Seattle has plenty of cloudy days, so a home with good windows and natural light can make a huge difference in how a space feels.
🏡 A functional layout
A home should work for your everyday life — not just look good during a showing. I’d pay attention to how the rooms flow, where people gather, and how the space is actually used.
🌿 Outdoor space (even if it’s small)
A backyard, balcony, patio, or nearby green space can become an extension of your home — especially during Seattle’s beautiful summer months.
🔨 Good bones and long-term potential
I’d look beyond the surface and consider things like maintenance, updates, and whether the home has room to grow in value.
📍 The feeling of the neighborhood
I’d visit at different times of day, walk around, grab a coffee, and imagine what everyday life would actually feel like there.
Because the best home isn’t just the one you fall in love with during a 20-minute tour…
It’s the one that still feels right years later. ✨
