How do I even explain today? 😂
The life of a real estate agent looks different every single day.
Some days I’m dressed up, showing houses, meeting with sellers, attending community events and doing all the things you probably picture when you think “real estate agent.”
And then there are days like TODAY. 😬
Some days I’m trimming trees, weeding flower beds, hosting garage sales, helping empty houses, loading furniture and doing whatever else needs to be done to get a property ready.
Today was definitely one of THOSE days.
Actually, let me back up…because today started with me baking sourdough early this morning and delivering a couple of loaves to friends. 🍞❤️
From there, things got progressively more interesting.
I played with a dog. 🐶
Found some teeny tiny false teeth. 😂🦷
Made a quick stop at Rural King for the popcorn AND to have a key made because Triangle Hardware was closed. 😭
Stopped at The Salvation Army
Trimmed trees.
Weeded flower beds.
Helped empty a house.
Picked up 4 Televisions
Made dinner for Sean.
And somewhere in all of that, we ended up with TWO carloads and TWO truckloads of stuff.
At that point I suddenly realized…
I NEED A STORAGE UNIT. 😂
This was absolutely NOT part of today’s plan.
I happened to drive past the new storage units on 66, made a phone call and within about 20 minutes I had a unit. Perfect! We’ll just take everything straight there.
Except Mother Nature had other plans. ⛈️⚡️
We ended up stuck in the garage because the Florida lightning was CRAZY. Loud, close and definitely not something we were going to mess around with.
Eventually I made it to the storage unit, unloaded everything…and then GOT STUCK INSIDE THE STORAGE FACILITY BEHIND THE BIG GATES. 🤦♀️😂
Apparently the storm had knocked out the sensor that was supposed to let me back out.
Because OF COURSE it did.
At that point, all I could do was laugh. 😂
But here’s the funny—and kind of amazing—part of this whole day…
This morning I said a little prayer.
I have a couple of vacant listings coming to the market and I’ve been looking for furniture, household items and little things I can use to stage them and make them feel more like HOME.
Well…God came through. ❤️
Apparently I should have been a little more specific about QUANTITY. 😂
He came through in such a HUGE way that by the end of the day I needed an entire storage unit.
Tonight I am soaked, exhausted, filthy…and completely blessed.
Here’s to the next few days of picking up, sorting, organizing and staging all of this stuff.
Oh—and somewhere in the middle of ALL OF THIS, I’m also making the switch from one computer operating system to a completely different one. 😭😬
Because apparently I didn’t have enough going on.
Real estate is definitely not always heels, pretty houses and closing tables.
Sometimes it’s sourdough, tiny false teeth, dogs, Rural King popcorn, tree trimming, pickup trucks, storage units, Florida lightning, broken gate sensors…and figuring it all out as you go. 😂❤️
And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
