The Dog Day Race in Harvey Cedars this morning was a perfect reminder of how special a running event can be. It brings people together — runners, walkers, families, friends, volunteers, and the whole community — all out there cheering each other on and enjoying where we live.
I’m so grateful that after all these years, I’m still able to lace up my sneakers, show up, and be part of these events. I never want to take that for granted. 💜
Even more grateful that my niece Sam Finn joined me today — although I’m not sure I exactly made it easy for her to say no! 😂 She was a great sport and I loved having her by my side, at least at the beginning.
And, as always, my 100% ride-or-die partner was there cheering me on and he still managed to get the bagels for our house guests❤️ I’m pretty lucky.
Here’s to community, family, running, and being grateful for every mile. 🏃♀️
