While we were making real estate deals our youngest assistant was busy making school history. Go Ruby and the Bluejays! 💙

# Greenwood Lady Jays Make History with State Runner-Up Finish! 🏆💙⛳

What an incredible finish to an outstanding season for the Greenwood Lady Jays Golf Team! The Lady Jays brought home SECOND PLACE at the Missouri Class 1 State Golf Championship, marking the highest finish in Greenwood golf program history!

Making their third state championship appearance in the last five years, the Lady Jays traveled to Paradise Pointe's Posse Golf Course in Smithville, Missouri, ready to compete against the best teams in the state.

Day one brought chilly conditions, with early morning tee times and temperatures in the upper 40s. The cold weather may have put a slight chill on the girls' scores, but the Lady Jays battled through the conditions and finished the opening round in 2nd place.

The second day brought warmer temperatures and improved scores for the Lady Jays! While defending champions, Highland, had established a commanding lead, the battle for second place was far from over. Throughout the final round, Greenwood and Tarkio went back and forth in a tight race for runner-up honors.

With every stroke counting, the Lady Jays stayed focused, battled to the very end, and came out on top in the race for the runner up spot by 8 stokes.

And just like that, the Greenwood Lady Jays made school history — STATE RUNNERS-UP! 🥈

Congratulations to the five talented athletes who made this remarkable accomplishment possible:

- Seniors: Emma Daugherty & Gwyndolyn Gelner
- Junior: Dylan Lee
- Sophomores: Ruby Brothers & Anna Schultz

A special shout-out to Head Coach Jeff Tebbenkamp and Assistant Coach Kathy Haeffner — two of the very best! Their dedication, encouragement, and commitment to these girls and the Greenwood golf program have been instrumental in the team's success. We couldn't ask for a better coaching duo!

For seniors Emma and Gwyndolyn, what an incredible way to close out their high school golf careers, helping lead their team to a record-setting finish!

Three state championship appearances in five years and now a second-place state trophy to bring home! What an accomplishment for this team and the Greenwood golf program!

Congratulations to the Lady Jays and their coaches on an unforgettable season. You've given Greenwood plenty to celebrate and a new standard of excellence to build on!
