We now have very special visitors every month: Cheryl and Rae!

Cheryl fostered and then adopted Rae. (Great choice!)

Raelynn is a Lagotto Romagnolo (Italian Water Dog.) She is blind. Her blindness does not stop her from almost anything!

Rae has earned her Canine Good Citizen Certification and is Certified with 2 pet therapy groups.

We are absolutely smitten by this sweet little lady and so thankful that Cheryl shares her and visits!

Today our community members enjoyed a trip to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home and Museum! Residents spent the day exploring history, learning about pioneer life, and visiting the place where Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote her beloved “Little House” books.

It was a beautiful day filled with storytelling, laughter, and great memories together. We love creating meaningful experiences that bring history to life and spark conversation. 🏡📚

When Dr. Wantuck shared that getting a memorial tattoo of his beloved dog Winston was on his bucket list, we knew we had to help make it happen in a fun and meaningful way. 🐾

So, while a real tattoo may be on hold, we helped him out by ordering custom temporary tattoos of Winston! The smiles and stories that followed were such a special reminder of how deeply our pets become part of our lives and hearts.

Winston may have had four legs, but he clearly left a lifelong mark. ❤️

We were honored to welcome a very special guest speaker to our community.

Our community members had the opportunity to hear firsthand stories and experiences from Lyndel Culbertson, a veteran with 26 years of distinguished military service as a Sergeant First Class in both the Signal Corps and Engineer Corps.

He currently serves with the 35th Infantry Division and previously served with the 1st Infantry Division in Germany as a paratrooper in the 18th Airborne Corps. His service also included deployments supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, and Operation Spartan Shield.

Thank you for sharing your experiences, leadership, and service with us. We are grateful for the sacrifices made by those who serve our country and for the opportunity to learn from such an inspiring individual. 🇺🇸

Motherhood is timeless, she never stops being “Mom.” The love, wisdom, sacrifice, comfort, and strength that mothers give stay woven into families and generations forever.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the mothers beside us, the mothers who came before us, and the memories of those who are no longer with us but still live on in our hearts. Their love helped shape who we are today.

We are deeply grateful for every mother, grandmother, stepmother, aunt, and mother figure who has nurtured, guided, encouraged, and loved others so selflessly throughout the years.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible women whose care and compassion continue to leave a lasting legacy. 💐

Our Creekside community members enjoyed a wonderful day trip to Jefferson City today! 🇺🇸

Residents had the opportunity to tour both the beautiful Missouri Governor’s Mansion and the historic State Capitol building. From learning about Missouri history and government to admiring the architecture and artwork throughout the buildings, the day was filled with fun, learning, and great conversation.

Outings like these are such a meaningful way to stay engaged, explore new places, and continue learning at every age. We are so thankful for the memories made together and the opportunity to experience some of Missouri’s most important landmarks firsthand! 😊

We loved getting a visit from a familiar face this week! 💙

Former Life Enrichment intern Abby Rudd stopped by to see friends after graduating from Missouri State University last year with a degree in Gerontology. Abby spent a semester with us during her internship and made such a positive impact on both residents and staff.

Creekside is proud of our continued collaboration with the Gerontology Program at Missouri State University.

Partnerships like these help provide students with meaningful hands-on experience while bringing fresh ideas, energy, and compassion into our community. Investing in future professionals who are passionate about aging services is so important, and we love being a small part of their journey.

Thank you for visiting us, Abby Rudd, you’ll always have friends at Creekside! 😊
