Some agents find real estate. For Aliya Shuman, it grew right out of the life she was already building. Aliya is a farmer's wife and a proud mom of two, and she and her husband are raising their children, their huskies, and even a herd of cows on his family's farm. That is a full house in the very best way.

After four wonderful years as a stay at home mom, a title she gratefully holds above all others, Aliya began easing her way back into work as her kids grew older. In May of 2025 she earned her real estate license and started serving families in her hometown of Springfield and the surrounding areas, bringing that same warmth from the farm to every family she works with.

In her own words, her time as an agent so far has highlighted just how much she loves helping people feel at home. We could not think of a better reason to do this job.

This weekend we “spring forward” for Daylight Saving Time, which means we lose an hour of sleep but gain those longer evenings we all love 🙌🏼

While you’re adjusting the clocks, it’s also a great time for a couple important homeowner reminders:

🏡 Change batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
🏡 Replace or check HVAC filters
🏡 Do a quick exterior walk-around to check for any winter damage

Spring is one of the busiest seasons in real estate, so if buying or selling is on your radar this year, now is the perfect time to start preparing.

I’m Team Lock the Clock… what are you?! ⏰

Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2:00 A.M., when clocks will “spring forward” one hour to Daylight Saving Time. Most people will set their clocks forward before going to bed on Saturday night, March 7, so they wake up at the correct time Sunday morning. . . but WHY?? 🕑️

Many Americans feel that changing clocks is outdated. In recent years, public frustration has fueled political momentum to make either DST or Standard Time permanent. While Congress has not yet passed legislation for permanent DST, states are taking matters into their own hands, and 29 states are actively pursuing some form of permanent time change.

In the U.S., there are some exceptions to DST that already exist: Arizona (except for the Navajo Nation), Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and American Samoa.
