Robert Redford 1936-2025

I have always been a huge fan of his movies. I would watch them often with my grandpa. His narration at the end of the movie he directed “A River Runs Through It” rings through my mind and I find fitting with his passing.

“Now nearly all those I loved and did not understand when I was young are dead, but I still reach out to them. And I know that in the heart of every great river, there is a waterfall where the water becomes a new thing, and when the water leaves the waterfall, it is no longer the same. And I can't help but feel that the waterfall is the same for each of us. And it feels like a stream of something, but that stream is something else. Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters"

Straight Arrow News is an outlet I enjoy for national and international news.
