Bottom line: empty doesn’t always feel bigger, intentional does. Furniture placement and staging help buyers see not just the room, but the lifestyle it can support.

Strategic staging defines scale, improves flow, and helps every square foot feel purposeful. According to the National Association of Realtors, staged homes sell faster and for 1–5% more than non-staged homes.

That difference isn’t just aesthetic, it’s impact. Thoughtful presentation helps buyers connect faster, understand value more clearly, and ultimately move more confidently toward an offer!

How to lighten up tiny living spaces

Interior designer John McClain shared tips with The Spruce on making small living rooms appear larger, emphasizing the importance of furniture with visible legs to create a sense of visual lightness. McClain advises against using oversized, floor-sitting furniture that can make a room feel cramped. He also suggests using larger area rugs, lighter finishes and vertical styling to enhance the sense of space.

Small living rooms can feel cramped and lacking with the wrong decor and layout. Discover this favorite designer trick to make a small living room feel bigger.

Exciting times... I have been honored by being asked and now officially voted onto the Board of Directors of a wonderful organization that is making real differences in our neighbor's lives.

I have been a supporter, volunteer and all around fan of Rebuilding Together St Louis for 10 years now. I was introduced to them through my volunteer service with the St Louis REALTORS®.

So I will keep everyone in the know about ways you can help support Rebuilding Together St Louis through out the year. Save the Date for the trivia night on Friday Sept. 11. We will have a Rebuild Day in the Fall where you can volunteer working in our client's home making it safe for them. I will get more info out soon.

You can always make a monetary donation to help us as well throughout the year. Check out their website and please like their FB page https://rebuildingtogether.org/ https://www.facebook.com/WeAreRebuilders

Rebuilding Together St. Louis supports safe and healthy housing in St. Louis City and County. We provide home modifications and repairs for income-qualified older adults, veterans and people with disabilities.

Many homeowners in our community live in homes with
Tripping hazards
Dangerous steps
Inadequate lighting
Leaking plumbing
Fire risks
And other home repair needs

Our goal is to reduce home hazards so that homeowners who want to age in place are able to do so comfortably and with less worry.

My CDO (Chief Doggy Officer), Hermey, was requested by Elite Title to attend our recent closing to discuss "what a good boy he is" and "how cute is this little guy". He was asking about treats right in the middle of the closing docs. This is going to have to go on his performance review. 😜
