I haven’t been able to write this post all week — honestly, not since state wrapped up. 🏊🏼‍♀️🏆

From how it started freshman year to how it ended this week at the final swim banquet… my heart is full. 😭

This is me — not ChatGPT or AI — trying to articulate how much this group of girls and these coaches mean to my G and to me. What an absolute privilege it has been to watch these girls grow and compete together over the last four years.

My heart can hardly hold the pride I feel watching how they have grown in their love of Jesus, each other, and the sport of swimming. Our senior girls have loved every minute of this season and genuinely loved leading together.

We could not be more blessed with coaches Schonhoff, Kerr, and Braun. They are exceptional coaches who brought out the best in these girls as swimmers — individually and as a team — but more importantly, they continually pointed them back to their identity in Christ. Not as swimmers, scholars, or pretty girls (though they are all of those things too), but as daughters of God.

And to my swim-meet besties… the ones who have sat with me for years cheering for my kid as loudly as you cheer for your own — thank you. You cried when she crushed her goals (honestly maybe more than I did), and I cried for yours too. 🤣

You have given me core memories I will cherish forever.

Watching our little swimming Seabiscuits grind and shine has been one of the greatest joys of my life. 🐎🌟

My favorite senior girl tradition at WCA Spirit Week is their Friday overalls. I don’t know why. Probably because I wish I had memories of something special like this when I was in high school. Probably because these girls are so precious and individual, yet united on this day, this week. I love how the “friend groups” are celebrated while also being dismissed as they work as a class towards a unified goal. We is bigger than me… am I right? I am going to do a shameless photo dump so that I can see this every year. We are so fortunate to have a school community that loves, sees and celebrates our kids and incentivizes them to collaborate and use their unique gifts/talents to benefit the whole. Stepping off the soap box. Shaking off the senior feels until probably Tuesday, when it will start again with Conference Finals for the swim team. You have been warned. 🥰💙🤍🏊🏼‍♀️🏆

Today kicked off our last WCA Spirit Week, and if you know G, you know this is her Super Bowl. Costumes are her favorite - and creating them with her ride or dies was the best part 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

Countless hours. Thousands of feathers.🪶 Full Rio bird commitment for Class Color Day. Listening to these girls laugh, sing, argue, and create on the floor above me—day after day—has made me smile every damn day. I hope they’re soaking in these moments even more than I am.

Winning the spirit stick on day one with her besties—for their class—was everything. 💙🤍💙

Now off to Costco, because Spirit Week is hungry work and this house has been officially defeated. 🛒✨

I haven’t posted much in the way of closings for awhile. Today’s closing came with more plot twists than season 3 of The Diplomat, but my client handled every one with pure grace. Here’s to handing over keys, fresh peace, and zero cliffhangers in the next chapter.

Proud mom moment ✨ - Most people know that Gigi swims 🏊🏼‍♀️because I am always posting from the pool but she has other amazing gifts too. I don’t know where she gets her creative talents 🎨and am in awe that she is my kid. I can’t draw a straight line. Since she works for me, one of my favorite tasks for her is drawing my clients homes - especially the historic homes that they have owned for years. 🏡Last week, my sweet clients closed the chapter on their family home of over 50 years and she spent weeks creating a keepsake for them. She spends countless hours trying to capture the details and I have been told that I don’t pay her enough - which is most likely true and I just have to hope that the 7 Brew 🧋and Target 🎯runs pick up the slack.
