From collapse to walls. 🏚️➡️🏡
When this historic home restoration project began, the house was dark, dirty and severely dilapidated. The roof had collapsed, the top of the rear brick wall was gone, and the floors throughout the back third of the house had collapsed under the weight of a hoard.
What followed was months of selective demolition, structural framing, tuckpointing, and rebuilding, along with the completion of electrical, plumbing and HVAC rough-ins, insulation, restored windows and countless other details that happen behind the scenes in a restoration like this.
And now… we finally have walls!
The original plaster that could be salvaged was carefully restored to preserve as much of the home’s historic character as possible. Where plaster couldn’t be saved, new drywall has been installed, taped and sanded.
It may look like we’re getting close—and we are—but there’s still plenty of work ahead. Every layer of this house tells part of its story, and we’re committed to bringing it back the right way: preserving its history while giving it a new life for the next 100+ years.
