I went on a listing appointment yesterday for a beautiful property built in 1940, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it after I left. ❤️

Some agents run 🏃‍♀️ from properties like these.

I run to them.

Where someone else might see an older home that needs work, I see stories, character, history and potential.

I wonder about the families who lived there. I think about how many holidays were celebrated inside those walls, how many kids ran through those rooms, and how many conversations happened around the kitchen table.

I notice the mature trees that have been standing there longer than most of us have been alive. I can almost hear that old screen door slamming shut behind somebody running outside barefoot on a summer afternoon.

Maybe I’m a little sentimental about old houses, but I love them.

Give me the original hardwood floors. Give me the imperfect walls. Give me the porches, the big trees and all those little details you just don’t find in new construction.

I’m not afraid of a property with some age on her. Not even a little bit.

Because sometimes you have to look past what something is today to see what it could become tomorrow.
