Most Realtors only talk to you when they think you're ready to BUY.
I want to say something out loud —
Before you become a great buyer, you have to become a great renter.
Landlords notice. Lenders notice. And your future self will thank you.
So here are the 3 things I want every CT renter I know to do THIS month:
1️⃣ Check your credit score. Not "someday." Today. Free at annualcreditreport.com. Most CT landlords want 620+. Competitive units want 680+.
2️⃣ Actually read your current lease. Know when it renews. Know your notice period. Know what fees you're paying that you don't use. Landlords count on you not reading it. Read it.
3️⃣ Start a moving fund — even if you're not moving yet. A CT move typically runs $4,000-$6,000 (first month + security + possible broker's fee + truck + set-up). Setting aside $200/month means in a year, you have OPTIONS. Options are power.
Preparation always beats panic.
I put all of this in a free 2-page checklist called The Smart CT Renter's Checklist — includes a fillable moving-cost worksheet and every document you'll need for your next application.
Comment MOVE below and I'll DM it to you. No sales pitch. Just tools.
