For years, local, state and federal leaders have worked to secure funding to replace our nearly 100-year-old maritime bridge. We are about to be awarded the final 130 million dollars of the 260 million dollars needed.

Enter Collins and Reed.

While at the city, Collins lead the charge to cancel the City’s involvement in our local train station. His issue? "Taxpayer money". Now Collins wants a seat on the Martin County Commission where we should expect the same.

His protégé at the City, Mayor Sean Reed, is now signaling that he would decline federal funding for the maritime bridge because “taxpayer money.”

Need federal and state help cleaning up our river? Nope. Taxpayer money.

Hop on the train from a local train station? Nope. Taxpayer money.

Need improvements to I-95, or other major infrastructure? Better turn that money down too.

This is not serious governing.

WE PAY THE TAXES EITHER WAY.

Turn the money down and it goes somewhere else to build someone else's infrastructure.

Martin County needs leaders who direct our taxpayer money back to us to support our community and our infrastructure.

We can end this August 18th by voting for Susan O'Rourke for Martin County Commissioner.
