The Atlantic has officially made it to September 21 without a hurricane—something that hasn’t happened since 1914.

Fay came dangerously close to breaking the streak last night, reaching 70 mph, just 4 mph short of the 74-mph threshold for hurricane strength.

But Fay is now weakening rapidly, and no other system is expected to reach hurricane strength for at least the next week.

Remembering 9/11 I was in Manhattan Sept 2001. I was 35. I stayed at the World Trade Center Embassy Suites. I left Sunday evening Sept 9th. I remember watching the news Tuesday morning that the North Tower was hit. I watched the South Tower then hit by a commercial airplane. I remember that day they evacuated many other significant high rise buildings in the country. All Commerical flights in the air were grounded. Manhattan was shut down immediately, no one allowed in, no one allowed out. All rental cars were rented throughout the country that week. I was in Tampa the day of the attack. I couldn’t believe what was happening. All I could think was, I was just there at that location for a week. President Bush was 1 hour away in Sarasota during the attack. The President was flown immediately to Nebraska, to an underground bunker. God bless all the souls in those twin towers that died. God bless all the first responders, police, firemen, a civilians that died. My heart breaks for all the people that later died or got sick from breathing in the toxic air. Many people developed cancer & other major health issues that were 9/11 related. So many families lost loved ones. This horrific event changed thousands of lives. This week every evening, I’ve watched all week just about every 9/11 documentary on Youtube & Netflix, to honor all those died & the survivors. I pray this never happens again in the United States.
