I absolutely love what I do. Truly. I don’t think I’ve ever loved a job as much as I love being a home inspector—as silly as that may sound.

Seeing different homes, running across something new all the time, working with people, educating my clients, and helping homeowners feel more confident and informed about one of the biggest purchases they’ll ever make—I love all of it.

I’m always striving to be better. Always learning, always trying to expand my knowledge, and always looking for ways to provide more value and be the best inspector I can be for my clients.

So when I receive reviews like these, they honestly mean the world to me. Especially on those days when I’m feeling a little down or questioning myself, reading something like this is a pretty great reminder of why I do what I do.

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make (outside of skipping the inspection all together) is choosing a home inspector based on price alone.

A home inspection is one of the least expensive parts of buying a home, but it can have one of the biggest impacts on your decision. Saving $100–200 on an inspection doesn’t mean much if major issues are missed that end up costing thousands after closing.

Not all inspections are the same. So experience, attention to detail, the time spent at the property, the quality of the report, and the willingness to educate you all matter. A thorough inspector isn’t just checking boxes—they’re helping you understand one of the biggest investments you’ll ever make.

When you’re comparing inspectors, don’t just ask, “How much do you charge?” Ask:

* How long are your inspections?
* What does your report include?
* Do you use thermal imaging?
* Can I attend the inspection and ask questions?
* What certifications and training do you have?
* What areas do you NOT inspect?

The cheapest inspection is only a good deal if it’s done well. If important defects are overlooked, it can quickly become the most expensive “money you saved.”

Most people think a home inspection is about finding problems.

It’s not.

It’s about giving people the information they need to make the best decision possible.

When I inspect a home, I don’t show up looking to kill a deal. I show up looking to educate my client.

I explain what I’m seeing, what it means, what should be addressed now, what can wait, and what options they have moving forward.

Sometimes that information gives buyers peace of mind.

Sometimes it helps them avoid a costly mistake.

And sometimes it saves them a lot of money.

In fact, a recent client told me my inspection report helped them negotiate nearly $12,000 off the purchase price of the home. Not because I exaggerated issues or tried to scare anyone—but because they had clear, documented information they could use to make an informed decision.

That’s how I believe home inspections should be done.

Tell the truth.
Show people their options.

There are a lot of home inspectors out there. I got into this because I genuinely love it.

I truly care about every home I inspect and every client I work with. My goal is to help buyers feel informed and confident about what they’re getting into — not overwhelmed or scared.
