Kansas REALTORS® was proud to meet with Kansas' congressional delegation on Capitol Hill to discuss issues impacting homeowners, private property rights, housing affordability, and the real estate industry across our state.

Thank you to U.S. Senators Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall, and the staff of U.S. Representatives Derek Schmidt, Sharice Davids, Tracey Mann, and Ron Estes for taking the time to meet with us and hear directly from Kansas REALTORS®members.

These conversations help ensure that the voice of Kansas REALTORS®, and the clients and communities we serve, is represented in federal policy discussions.

While attending the 2026 NAR Legislative Meetings, Kansas REALTORS® took a break from advocating on Capitol Hill to celebrate former Kansas REALTORS® President and newly inducted RPAC Hall of Fame member Jon Fort's birthday.

Between earning a place in the RPAC Hall of Fame and being serenaded by fellow REALTORS®, we'd say Jon had a pretty memorable week. Happy Birthday, Jon, and congratulations on both milestones!

Kansas REALTORS® is proud to celebrate a record-breaking RPAC Hall of Fame class recognized at the 2026 NAR Legislative Meetings in Washington, D.C. This year, seven Kansas REALTORS® earned this prestigious honor for their exceptional commitment to advocacy and protecting private property rights through RPAC.

Inducted into the $25,000 Hall of Fame were Cindy Cunningham, Kyrsten Day, Jon Fort, Thomas Shaw, and Sue Wenger. Steve LaRue and Todd Woodburn were recognized at the $50,000 Hall of Fame level.

The RPAC Hall of Fame recognizes REALTORS® whose lifetime investments demonstrate an extraordinary dedication to ensuring REALTORS® have a strong voice in shaping policies that impact our industry, communities, and consumers.

Congratulations to each of these outstanding advocates, and thank you for your leadership and commitment to the REALTOR® Party.

Please join us in celebrating Darren Beckham’s first anniversary with Kansas REALTORS®!

Over the past year, Darren has brought his passion for public policy, advocacy, and grassroots engagement to KR as our Public Policy Field Director. From supporting RPAC and governmental affairs efforts to helping strengthen the statewide political coordinator program and connecting local associations with valuable NAR resources, Darren has made an immediate impact.

A proud Wichita State University graduate and former student body president, Darren came to KR with years of experience in the Kansas Senate, including serving as chief of staff to the Senate Vice President. His expertise, leadership, and commitment to REALTOR® advocacy have been tremendous assets to our members and our team.

When he's not advocating for Kansas REALTORS®, Darren enjoys traveling and immersing himself in other cultures. As it turns out, his one-year anniversary with KR finds him all the way in Rome!

Short term rentals are making a big impact in the Kansas City region. According to a recent analysis highlighted by KCRAR, short term rentals generate more than $600 million in economic output, supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and contributing to tourism across the region.

SENT (Strengthening & Equipping Neighborhoods Together) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to walking alongside neighbors through relationships, resources, and community development to help transform neighborhoods throughout Shawnee County. Their work focuses on education, housing, health and wellness, and creating opportunities for families to thrive.
